Every year the top ski resort areas throughout the Western US try to market themselves and get folks to come stay, spend money and play. Last year, well last year, that is to say 2008-2009 ski season was not too pretty with all the economic challenges our great nation faced. So, one has to wonder if this year 2009-2010 ski season will get them back to normal?
Many ski lodges are in foreclosure, and the consumer has tightened down. Christmas retail is predicted to be better than last year, but that wouldn't be too hard considering on where it was. Out in the Western States there are a number of really great ski areas in the US to consider. But, which high-end ski resorts our West will make the grade and get top honors for the 2009-2010 ski season?
Luckily, it looks as if the cold weather came early this year for a nice first snow fall base pack, which is a very good sign, but still nothing is set in stone, El Nino has been acting a bit weird this go around you see. Personally, I like Sun Valley, ID and also enjoy Park City UT, but the reality is they are all good.
Consider such high-end resort communities like McCall ID, Kalispell MT, Sun Valley ID, Jackson Hole WY, Aspen CO, Banff Canada, Park City UT, Mammoth CA, Coeur d' Alene ID, etc. etc. I mean come on that's one hell of a line up, and if you just spent two weeks in each chasing the weather, can you imagine that it would be a season you never forgot? Please consider taking a ski vacation this winter and supporting those who'd love you do come and visit.
