Mountain biking across the state - Utah Sports

Utah has some of the best trails and roads for bicycling throughout the state. They have places for road cycling, mountain biking, and any other type of cycling you do. Since Utah has such an unusual landscape, there are numerous ranges to explore, ranging from 2,350 feet above sea level in the southwest corner to 13,528 feet in the Uinta Mountains. The temperatures also vary, cooler in the mountain areas in the north and hotter in the southern regions.

Some great places to bike are the ski resorts in the north. Park City and Salt Lake City have many resorts with great trails for bikers during the dry summer months. For a small fee, you can even take the lifts up the mountains.

There are many trails throughout the Wasatch mountain range for alpine mountain biking. Whether it's biking on snow or on a dirt path, the ride is full of twists, various terrain, and even jumps.

If road cycling is more your style, there are plenty of Utah weekly series races running from April to September including the Canyon Bicycles Rocky Mountain Raceways Criterium, Salt Air Time Trial, and the Royal Street Hillclimb TT.

There are also Utah Road Bike Races that run through October. There are five in September and about three in October of this year. There are a few ultramarathon bike races, such as the Hoodoo 500 in St. George, as well as other races such as the Intermountain Cup Series. If you ride on the road in your free time, look for the new "Share the Road" signs that Utah has implanted to create better bike safety between motorists and bicyclists.

If you're passionate about biking, whether you're a beginner or expert, Utah has the trails and roads to keep you exploring new terrain and pushing yourself to the limit. Utah recreation sites are worth exploring this year, whether it's just a leisure ride or a race.
